cheveux de Bardot

One of Brigitte Bardot's most famous assets - along with her full lips and tiny waist - was her hair. The original 'bedhead' hair, long, and dyed blonde for the first time in 1956 (the year she appeared in perhaps her most memorable film, 'And God Created Woman').
Although the most famous pinup images of her show effortlessly tousled locks that fall in waves, I admire the various styles she sported while she was out and about. Almost all of them involve a tall and generally neat bouffant, achieved by teasing the hair at the crown of the head.

Pigtails seem to have been a favourite of hers, and even then she managed to fit the signature "choucroute" height in.

Curly accents dress up what would otherwise be a somewhat plain updo, which is just not BB's style.

I love her use of bows, ribbons...

...and flowers!

Her formal hairstyles were just as gorgeous, and though they look elaborate are quite easy to do with a hefty amount of patience.

The Girl With The Black Tights

Although I feel the film 'Factory Girl' (2006) delved too much into Edie Sedgwick's reported relationship with Bob Dylan and did not focus enough on the more important things in Edie's life, I love the fact that they put a lot of effort into recreating her iconic look. Obviously, Sienna Miller doesn't physically resemble Edie in the slightest, but there are a fair few times in the film where the costume department attempted to duplicate entire outfits from particular photographs. I noticed these moments as soon as they came on screen and I was impressed! Below are some excellent examples.
